When you hear the term “backyard wedding” there is often this preconceived notion that things are basically thrown together, not very pretty, and unappealing. I think 2020 really put those preconceived notions to rest.. especially the Cataldo Wedding.
Reagan and Charlie’s backyard wedding was well.. goals. A gorgeous barn, a wonderful backyard in NH in the fall with the foliage at peak in the season, delicious catering, a full bar - you name it and they had it. I joked with them and asked if I could rent out their yard for my own wedding when the time came!
But it wasn’t just the backyard that made their wedding so enjoyable. Both Reagan and Charlie’s families were so welcoming. As soon as I arrived they welcomed me with open arms, showed me where to go and invited me into their home. They continually asked if I needed anything all day. They were the sweetest group of people.
You could also see the love everyone had for each other, and especially their little boy, Thomas. After the ceremony was said and done, we snuck away for photos of Reagan, Charlie and Thomas. Although he just wanted to run and play, we managed to get a few great pictures of the family.
The speeches were filled with love and respect (and of course a few jokes too) and then a delicious meal. And that’s when the party started. It didn’t take long for the dance floor to be filled with friends and family. Even little Thomas joined in to show off his moves.
In the end, this day was perfect - filled with such warmth and happiness: exactly what a wedding day should be. It was the perfect example of what a backyard wedding can be. I encourage other couples to take a look and consider a wedding like this!
Reagan and Charlie, thank you for trusting in me for your wedding day. I was so happy to have captured these moments for you, gotten to you both and your families. Honestly, one of my favorite moments of the day was the time alone with you two and laughing and seeing your love. Thank you for your laid back attitudes and again, showing everyone what a wedding should be about - love ♥️
